Rules

  1. Respect
    • Be nice, don't be a douche, talk with your fellow players and keep the lines of communication open. This is a place to have fun! Don't pick fights! You have the final say on your character, as do others have the final say on their character. Your character isn't you, and neither is the other player their character. If you have a big plot point, a fight, death, or anything of that nature, discuss it with your partner before writing it out, or give the option for the player to ignore it or react.

    • Basically: no godmodding. We will take accusations of godmodding very seriously and review your character with a critical eye. (We're waaaaatching yooooou) Also, and I cannot stress this enough, IC and OOC relationships are completely separate things. If their character is acting like a douche to yours and spreading things, that doesn't necessarily mean the player has a problem with you. Be open and discuss it, and don't use your character to act out a dislike of another player.

  2. Activity
    • While we enjoy playing in our free time, the game isn't meant to eat up every spare moment (unless that is what you wish) but it's still important to be around at least marginally to keep things going. We understand life gets busy, but long stretches of time without seeing your character, only to pop up to just barely make AC is called squatting, and we reserve the right to review characters who are squatting.

Also, while it's fine to be busy and have a life, it's not fine to leave other characters hanging for a long time. If you know you won't be able to post for a while or a log is going to be very slow, please talk to the other players involved about what will ultimately happen in the log so their character(s) are able to move on. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. We understand how it gets when a character is in an important log that significantly affects things and may get locked into not being able to play outside of it until it is resolved.

  3. Characters Allowed
    • Currently, we allow four characters per person. As we do not currently have app rounds, you may not apply for more than one character at a time: if you have a pending app, you cannot apply for another until that pending app is resolved. NOTE: revisions do not count as being resolved.

  4. Original Characters
    • Original characters are welcome in this game, but bear in mind that we hold up original characters to a slightly higher standard of acceptance than characters from someone else's canon with easily accessible resources.

  5. Staying in Character
    • This goes without saying, but you need to play your characters in character. We love developing characters, and recognize that with suffecient development, a character may not be the same as when they introduced- due to a life changing event or trauma usually, but please keep things consistent. You cannot have Bleachy McCastmate be a booze swilling layabout one moment, then a suddenly successful on-the-move businessman. Likewise, if you apply for an original character, if you apply them as a scientist and suddenly turn them into a bleach-blonde Valley Girl who goes around wearing a mini-skirt shouting out "MOON PRISM POWER, MAKE UP", we'll be less than pleased.

  6. Content

    • Being that ratings are the domain of movies and ratings lead to slippery slopes of censorship, we do things a little differently here regarding content. We allow what is considered adult content: written violence, language, erotica, you name it. We use the adult content settings for logs that contain these elements. Textual is not graphic, so we're not concerned with "graphical depictions" written out in a log. For this reason, we only allow 18+ members. Also, please cut and mark your posts with the appropriate warnings and entry flags. As a general rule, if it could be called offensive put up a warning. Also keep in mind that while we allow erotica of all natures, sex is not the focus of this game. If you're looking for copious amounts of smut, there are other roleplays better suited to your taste.

  7. Tag All Posts You Start/Reply To
    • This is important for us mods and storywise. If you do not tag then the mods may miss your activity and may put your character on a warning list.

  8. Grammar and Spelling
    • Grammar and spelling in a text based game is extremely important: people will judge you on how you write. While we are not complete grammar nazis, please make sure to proof read your apps and entries, and even tags. Dreamwidth has a handy spellcheck and preview function to help with this.

  9. Applications
    • Rules involving applications are listed on the applications page. We offer several different ways to be accepted. If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact us.

  10. The mods are human beings:
    • This means that mods may not always be available for questions or can reply in a timely matter. Give at least one week from the date of question/issue/et ctra before sending a message.
    • This also means that mods may make mistakes. Please bear with us as we correct them.
    • We may get angry and misspeak. Please forgive us this and bear with us as we try to correct that as well.

    • We are not being paid for this. This is not our job. We do this for fun and to create a fun place for people to play. Any argument of "that is not professional" is moot because when is a game mod ever a profession?

    • Please keep these things in mind when we do something that doesn't jive with what you think we should be doing.

  11. We reserve the right:
    • To reject any app for any reason, including, but not limited to: poor player reputation and conduct provided that reputation and conduct is recent, OOCness, consideration of fit within the game.

    • To remove any player for any reason, including but not limited to: poor player conduct, dramamongering, OOCness

    • To make any necessary decisions for the game including: gameplay, new rules, changes to current game mechanics, end game, missions, player plots, content
